You’ve fallen off the weight loss wagon. That’s natural; everyone does it at some point. By realising that you’ve fallen off track, you can do something about it. You can get back on track! It may seem like the hardest thing in the world to do, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Here are some tips to help you move on.
Draw a Line Under It
Draw a line under the damage you’ve done. Treat the day as a new one and forget about the bad you’ve done. Step on the scales and see what the numbers say. You can’t do anything about the past, but you can accept that it has happened and move on. The sooner you draw a line under it, the quicker it will be to get back to where you wear beforehand.
Go Back to Basics
How long have you been losing weight? Are you starting to get complacent in weighing your food and controlling your portions? It’s time to take a step back and go to the basics.
Pretend like you’re starting from the very beginning and you will soon find that you take control of your food intake again. Go back to the basics for everything and be honest with yourself if you eat that extra bit of food.
Try Something New
Going off track could be a sign that you’re getting bored. It’s common, especially if you’ve been losing weight for a while. You get bored of the same routine or annoyed that there is nothing new to try. Well, start getting creative and try something different.
Get out the recipe books and try one that you’ve always wanted to or join a new dance or exercise class. As you find the joy in your diet again, you’ll get back on track quicker.
Plan Ahead With Your Meals
Plan your meals in advance to make it as easy as possible. Make a list of all the food you need and only buy that from the supermarkets. If you find it really hard to stick to the list when walking up and down the aisles, do your shopping online to avoid the temptation or get your husband to do it instead.
Focus on Your Breakfast
Look at your breakfast and focus on eating a healthy one. Those sugary cereals aren’t going you any good—health or weight loss! Invest in the bran cereals that will keep you feeling fuller for longer.
If you constantly find yourself in a rush, make your breakfast the night before or have your own cereal bars from your own oats and fruits to eat on the go.
Talk to Others Losing Weight
There will be others around you losing weight. Take the time to talk to them and confess you’re off track. They will have been there before, or may be going through something similar.
Get tips off each other and compete together on your weight loss efforts.
