Natural Ways to Look After Your Skin

Skin care is highly important for many people, but how do you do it without spending a fortune? Natural products are extremely useful. Not only are they more affordable but they are free from chemicals that can cause health issues. Most of the following you will have in your own kitchen to use on a daily basis.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is an excellent addition into your skin care regime. The acidic quality helps to kill bacteria, which often leads to acne and rashes. However, you do need to be careful when using lemon juice.

It can be highly reactive to sensitive skin, especially on the face. Mix the lemon acid with some water, and you will have a diluted version. Or you can dip half a lemon in some sugar or salt and create your own exfoliating product.

Salt and Water

Salt on its own is also great to look after your skin. This is excellent if you have pimples that you want to get rid of quickly. The salt will dry out the skin, which in turn dries out your pores.

The pimples have nothing to feed on to make bigger. The salt also helps to limit the amount of bacteria that can affect your skin. Use it sparingly and don’t forget to moisturise afterwards.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is an excellent source of vitamin E. It helps to reduce inflammation in the skin and will soothe burns and other problems. It also has anti-bacterial properties, which helps with the cleaning of your skin.

The best option is to grow your own Aloe plants to get the natural ingredient. However, you can buy it over the counter in various herbal stores.

Ice

You may not realize it but ice is one of the best things when it comes to pimples. The ice helps to reduce the blood vessels, as they try to get away from the cold. This reduces the inflammation caused by the pimples.

You will find that the redness disappears within a matter of days instead of weeks. If you’re one of those who likes to pick at their spots (it’s best not to) then you should use ice to help reduce the redness caused and help with the healing.

Water

Keeping your skin hydrated is one of the most important things you can do. It will not only help to reduce the chance of acne, but it will help to keep the skin looking fresher and younger.

You don’t need to apply it directly to the skin. Just drinking it is enough. If it is a hotter day, you will want to drink more. The body keeps cool through sweating, but this dehydrates it at the same time.

Tea Tree Oil

One oil that is becoming more and more popular is tea tree oil. It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, which helps with all types of skin problems. It can be added to water or even natural creams to create an easy to apply lotion.
