Babies, toddlers and children at a young age often suffer from many problems, whether colds, injuries, constipation, eczema, all of which could require additional care and might cause you to be concerned. However, for the most part a mother becomes fairly used to some of these problems that become very easy to solve at home. Here are seven items that area great to always keep around the house.

Vitamin E

Babies and toddlers are very active and full of energy and you never know when an accident can happen.

If they suffer from a small injury, you can use vitamin E to help prevent scarring in the future.

You can find it either in capsule or in liquid forms and apply it directly on to the scar for a few days after the injury, to prevent long term damage.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a great agent for treating burns and irritated skin. It is great if your toddler accidently touches a hot surface or gets a sunburn (although it is important that children always get sunscreen).

It is harmless and very safe to use on sensitive skin.

Olive oil

Olive oil makes a terrific moisturizer. You can use to treat mild baby eczema, dry skin and even diaper rash.

Simply put couple of drops on the skin and gently rub it on the affected areas, you should be able to see the results within a few days.

Bananas

Most toddlers and smaller children suffer often from diarrhea. While the causes can vary and are sometimes unknown, you can always use bananas to treat them.

Bananas are great to control diarrhea and provide temporary relief. Make sure that the diarrhea is not a sign of a more serious problem.

Hydrogen Peroxide

This product is great to clean cuts and scrapes and prevent them from getting infected, simply wet a cotton ball and dab on the affected skin.

You can also use for clearing ear wax with one or two drops into the ear, using an eye drop. It is widely available in drug stores.

Make sure you buy it in the smallest concentration and keep out of reach of your children as swallowing it could be harmful for children.

Honey

It is great to treat and soften sore throats when your child has a cold. You can either give it to them in a very small dose directly as a spoonful or add it to hot water or milk.

Make sure you use honey in moderation as it has very high content of sugar.

Eucalyptus leaves

Eucalyptus leaves can help unblock the child’s nose when they have a common cold. Simply boil a few leaves and let the steam out in the house or in your child’s room.

Breathing the steam can help significantly as it reliefs their nose blocks which causes a lot of pain and breathing problems for little children. It is also soothing and will help them sleep better.
