Have you ever wondered what your man would be doing right now if he wasn’t with you? There are likely a lot of thoughts going around you head, and none of them good. However, you may be surprised at the things men really do miss about being single. Here are just some of them.
Not Having to Justify Their Purchases
Men like to go out and just buy something for the sake of buying it. However, you’re expecting him to justify every single expenditure. If you’re on a tight budget, this is understandable, but he doesn’t want to explain all his spending.
You can give him this ability back. Allow him a set budget each month that he can spend anyway that he wants. But once it’s gone, it’s gone!
Not Tidying Up
Men tend to like mess, and every now and then they like being lazy. They don’t want to pick up the pizza box as soon as the pizza is finished. They don’t want to tidy up those beer cans first thing after a great party.
However, you’re getting him to do that. He misses being able to laze around and do nothing for the day. Could you give him that one day every now and then to do that?
Being Able to Stretch Out in the Bed
Admit it; you feel the same thing. There is something about having a bed to yourself. People like to stretch out and not have to worry about taking up more space.
You may even wish your man would stop rolling on top of you while he’s in a deep sleep. It may be worthwhile to have a spare bed where you can both escape to every now and then, even if it’s just once a month.
Not Having to Talk About Feelings
Men don’t like opening up—at least, most of them don’t. They don’t want to talk to you about your feelings either, all that time. That usually means there is a problem.
Men miss the ability to get home from work and just relax by watching TV or playing video games. If you want to natter about your own feelings, consider calling a girlfriend every now and then—just once a week or so—to give him the time to himself.
The Unconditional Love from Mummy
This isn’t a bad thing. By him missing that love and support from his mum, it means that you’re not becoming a replacement. You’re his girlfriend or wife.
However, he needs that time with his mum, even if he doesn’t want to admit it. Encourage him to speak to his mum on a weekly basis; you likely do it with your mum already.
Not Making the Decisions
Women can be overpowering when it comes to making decisions, especially if you like to micromanage. It can feel to him that your home together is just yours. He doesn’t belong in your space.
Let him make some of the decisions. It could be something as simple as choosing dinner or a movie to watch.
